Ideal Standard International, headquartered in Brussels, is a privately held company owned by Bain Capital Partners LLC and is a market leader in furnishings for residential, commercial and institutional projects. A key part of their business strategy is a significant focus on the development, industrialization and supply of innovative bathroom solutions in the field of sanitary ceramics, bathroom and kitchen faucets, wellness, furniture and accessories.

The company operates in more than 20 countries in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America. With the support of 20 European production plants, it offers top-level products that meet the strictest standards.

The product groups are distributed under the international brands Ideal Standard, Jado and American Standard (Latin America), as well as other local brands such as Armitage Shanks (Great Britain), Ceramica Dolomite (Italy), Porcher (France) and Vidima (Eastern Europe).

The history of the company began 137 years ago in the USA in a small factory founded by two Irish immigrants, which was engaged in the production of cast iron toilets and sinks.
Innovation is reflected throughout the history of Ideal Standard. In 1969 they developed the first wall-hung WC, in 1970 the first cartridge with ceramic discs, the company was the first to introduce sanitary acrylic as a material for the production of bathtubs.
